UW Sports Ministry Summer Staff
Welcome to the UW Summer Staff web page. UW is excited to offer summer internships for college-aged students looking for a way to use their athletic gifting to share Christ with kids. If you love to travel, play sports, meet new people and grow spiritually through service this ministry might be for you!
Our hope is that this site will give you a better understanding of what we are all about and also what some of our past interns have to say about their experience.

2008 Sports Camp

I just participate in sports camp in Yukon, OK at Covenant Community Church as a coach. Both of my children have experience sports camp throughout the years. I have volunteered in the kitchen in the past but never as a coach. I helped with basketball this year. I have never picked up a basketball in my life but after this week I have learned a few things myself. The rewards and blessing I received working with the children outweighed the inexperience and hesitations I had going in on Monday. If you have the opportunity to give of your time to this extraordinary program that is fun, rewarding, and shares the Lord with little ones I urge you to do so. You will leave the week changed and I can assure you that you will have made a difference in a child’s life.

I am so thankful for this camp. It is a wonderful thing you all are doing. My son just finished camp in Baxter Tn and Coach Julia Cruz was awesome. I think she has to be an asset to your team. She was thoughtful and caring and made each and every player feel as if they were the team. Thanks to this chance at camp and all the wonderful people there my 7 yr old son has chosen to ask God into his heart. He is openly tlking about his experiance and asking ?s and I could not have asked for a better gift. Keep on doing Gods work!!! My prayers are with you guys. Though I have to listen to it every night the music is very inspirational and at this time has taken a #1 spot in my sons CD player.Truly moving!!
